How do you cut eggcrate smoothly?

Thanks Nate. The problem is that I have a bowfront tank and I want a nice clean cut curved edge. My husband tried using the jigsaw I believe or some hand held saw and it didn't come out the greatist - functional - but not very pretty. And there are some gap I would like to get rid of.

You can draw the outline of the curve on the eggcrate with a sharpie marker and then cut along the "line" with wire cutters... it's a slow process but it's worked for me, just did that for an overflow.

No problem. I'm home most days, and most evenings. Daytimes are a little better, but no big deal for something as quick as this. Just bring a trace of the tank.

I used a pair of wire cutters. Took 10 minutes tops.

The jigsaw should work. Might want hubby to get a bimetal blade with alot of teeth. Then tell him to "go slow" . The cut will be much finer. Hit it with a file after. Good to go.

Wire cutters on a apair of needle nose pliers(sp?). It works very easily,
