target feeding corals?

so i decided today that i was going to target feed my acan and war coral. as well as all my other LPS's. now i shut my pumps off and my return pump so there was no flow whatsoever and dropped mysis shrimp on them as well as some reef chili.. is that the proper way to target feed or should i keep the pumps on? thanks for the info

I usually leave a little flow on and add a little food to the water making everything open up. then i spot feed with a turkey baster, that way I dont add more than needed

This is the same way i target feed all my corals.. I only target feed after the lights have been out for about 1 hour.. I need to make sure the fish are asleep so they don't eat it all..
