is that to much for tha ttank size

Not at all, I use 2x250 SE's on a 36" parallel/parabolic reflector for my 65.

In hindsight, I would go with a T5 6-7 bulb setup driven by an ATI or Icecap ballast. You'd get more light output (IME) with about 100 less watts, bulb replacement costs would also be also be about the same when compared to replacing 2 MH bulbs.

That is the same direction I am going (2 x 250 SE) on my 65. I am doing it because of the depth and the higher kelvin bulbs. I'm using a 250 14K bulb over my 29 right now (lifted a bit off the normal light height of course) and it does not put out the light a 10K does. Add the much deeper water column of the 65, and I knew 175 was just not enough.

I can't deal with not having he shimmer, so T-5's were out for me. After all, it's as much about my pleasure as anything else. :D
