Very effective but fragile. Its best to culture them and then add them to your tank once they have reproduced several times. If you just dump them in they'll likely be eaten or destroyed by pump intakes.

It seems that people buy a bunch, dump them in, hope they gobble everything up and expect them to eventually die. Kind of a write-off purchase... Someone mentioned giving several away to friends and then trading them back and forth in case a few small aiptasia were missed.

they will not survive in SPS-level flow tanks....get blown around like dust particles.
