Anyone have luck putting coralline shavings into their tank to promote growth??

Wondering if this is a good way to jumpstart some in my tank. I currently have a few patches but id like it to grow a little faster.
 
I've heard of people doing this, but probably will take time like everything else. Let us know how yu make out if you do this.
 
One thing I have done is take coralline shavings from my own glass and mix them with the epoxy I use to glue frags. This makes the epoxy get quickly covered with corraline, so it looks better in the tank. No more ugly white epoxy globs in the tank.
 
I got these in My Aquarium Box at one point I think. If want to pick them up I'll give them to you.

i simply got a small live rock covered with coraline from my lfs (ltr) placed it I’m my tank, kept my calcium up and now it’s everywhere. They say if you scrape the rock once and a while it’ll spread faster. Honestly there was no need.
