If you are running a MJ1200 to feed the skimmer, just bump it down to smaller one..900, 600, 400..?

I was going to say this, won't a lower flow pump make the skimmer work 'better', more contact time with the bubbles? Skimmer science is hard to grasp!

From what I can see, its a true balance of the flow through the skimmer and the bubbles being produced. It also has to do with the Venturi effect of the pump, the more air it sucks in the less water that flows through (I believe).

For now the Air stone mod is back working great. I don't think I would use a CPR skimmer without it.
