Carbon in a Phosban reactor

MPS

Auto feeder
I have a phosban reactor that i don't use anymore. I hear people like to run carbon in them. Is this a good idea? If so do I run it for say 2 days then shut off the pump wait 5 days then run again? Can I use the same carbon on and off for a period of time? Tank is a 25g if that is a factor. Any advise would be appreciated.

turning it on and off will cause stale water to be in the reactor....when you turn the pump back on, it will dump stagnant water into your system...not a great idea.

If you run carbon 24/7, set the flow so the carbon moves around some.

Changing it should be when the water stops looking 'polished'......and varies from tank to tank.
