Choosing Live Sand

Hi everyone,

I Never realized how many different types of sands there are. I plan on going to my local store tomorrow to buy some for my 50g cube.

Any specific types I should choose over the others? How much should I put?

This all depends on what type of tank you are doing and what you are planning on having for corals. Specifically if you are going to have a SPS tank which requires more flow you will want to go with a larger grain sand so that you aren't blowing it all around your tank. Other than that it is really just personal preference as to color and brand. Just be careful with very fine sands as they can make a mess in your tank.
