Hello
I have a Reefer-2 G2+ 550. Started the cycle with Turbostart 900 and Fishless Fuel. There was a rapid spike in Ammonia followed by increased levels of both nitrites and nitrates. Ammonia is now zero (yellow by API) and still with Nitrites and Nitrates which I know is normal.
I Read and watched some BRS vids about Biome Cycling with Galaxy Pods and Photoplankton immediately after cycling. I think I want to try this in my home aquarium.
A few questions linger tho... Hoping to have pods by Wednesday. If not (Holiday stuff), if nitrites are zero should I just feed the tank another round of fishless fuel?
If in fact nitrites are zero (by validation of a couple of tests) then do I do a 25-50% water change after the cycle and before pods? And then once pods are in, how soon do I have to wait to add livestock? Obviously choosing 2 smaller clowns to start.
Oh, and once cycle is confirmed to be complete, I can turn on reefmat, skimmer, and since bacteria and pods are in the tank, I can turn on lights but using an acclimation cycle, correct?
Thanks in advance!
Andrew
