Dinoflagellates

This afternoon around 4pm makes 3 days of lights out, I briefly took cover of on Saturday to add a wave maker so it can blast the rocks, to help free them up and hopefully get drained into sump, don't have any reactors but added a carbon stock and a phosphate removal media sock, and to help with competition of nutrients, I added Microbacter 7, this afternoon I will suck up as much as I could, luckily for me I don't have much coral, just starting out really.

Proper water flow is a must. I've found that a return pump alone should turn the volume of the tanks water over a minimum of ten times an hour. Then add wavemakers strategically placed. This will help to keep any cyano and slime from building up on the rock and sand.

I've been at the hobby since the mid nineties and understand what dino's are. Once you get your tank nutrient-poor you have other directions to go with your battle.
