Halide question for 150

Liam

letting it grow
Hi guys,i'm looking for your advice again,which is greatly appreciated.
Here's the question.I am currently having a 150 gallon 60x24x24 acrylic built and can't decide how many access holes to get cut,either 2 or 3.This will depend on my lighting as i do not want halides over the acrylic.At the minute it's a toss up between;
1.Getting two openings cut and using 2 400w
2.Three openings with a 400w flanked by 2 250w

I am keeping mainly SPS and the aquascaping is planned a being two rock faces forming a V so the corals nearer the end of the tank are higher up and closer to the light source.
Do you think two 400 watters will cover a 60 inch long 24 inch deep tank?
thanks,Liam.

I have a 48x24x24 tank, and am using 2 400 watt MH's and 2 110 VHO actinics on it. I think your best bet would be 3 MH's. A MH can typically cover a 24x24 area, which would leave a bit of extra. If you wanted a lower light region in the middle though, 2 would work better.
