I just realized it has been little over two years since I bought my first reef tank in this thread http://www.bostonreefers.org/forums...with-stand-and-custom-canopy&highlight=corner and little less than 2 years since filling it up with water Labor Day weekend, 2012.

Happy Birthday!!

Oh yeah, I have a GREAT build thread on the 20g sump

I purchased this tank with a custom acrylic 3 chamber sump made for this odd shape. It leaked when I bought it(known issue). Attempted patches by bonding more acrylic over the leaks. This worked for sometime. This spring I put too much pressure on one of the sides while removing some equipment for cleaning. The side cracked off and dumped 5g of water on the floor. Sump went in the trash.

I had a 20g QT tank <no copper> which quickly became the sump that night and the build was simple. Insert drain line, insert return pump, insert skimmer, hang reactor off side and GO. No chambers inside the sump. The drain enters sump very near the skimmer intake. The skimmer output is far away as I can make from return pump intake. The outflow of the reactor keeps some circulation in the otherwise dead corners. This quick fix has been in place since. I do get some microbubbles in DT so eventually want to do it right.

I've always wanted a display refugium, but just can't convince wife for more room.
