help skimmer freaking out

well for some reason...nothing has changed in my tank


my skimmer is freaking out

level hasnt changed..no recent water changes..nothing new
it was working yesterday perfectly

today its pumping out foam and water stupidly just out the top


cant really dial it down

its an octopus 150nw



oo and my collection cup was crazy full so all that is back into the water
i threw some carbon things in just in case

Mine did the same thing (NW200) after I changed a filter sock. I have the gate valve mod. I let it sit turned off for a couple of hours then I had to open the gate valve all the way. It still overflowed. I then turn on the pump with the air line blocked. If I added air slowly by opening and closing the air line with my finger I was able to keep running but had to empty it every 12 hours at first. Then over the next week + I was able to slowly close valve to were it is back skimming normal again.

You could try blocking the air tube till pump settles in a little to see if you can get it running again.

mine did that too (octo extreme 160) once for no reason. Water coming out of the top of it. I just drained the collection cup a few times when it filled up and it stopped after a little while.

well i just turned it down...it sounds like its now a waiting game...thats kool
