Kalk Reactors

Hi Everyone,
I had a question about Kalk reactors and thought maybe people could chime in with their thoughts. I'm interested in buying one, and I've noticed there are two distinct different kinds - those with stirrers and those with a powerhead. Can anyone tell me the advantages/disadvantages to each style? And who makes a good quality kalk reactor.

Some people say the powerheads can wear out more quickly with those models. But You can always replace it right?

I built one with a minijet powerhead because it was much simpler than trying to incorporate a magnetic stirrer.

I also heard of one guy whose magnetic stirrer rod actually wore a hole through the bottom of a reactor! I don't imagine that's a common occurance though.
