Kill a Watt

Just got my Kill A Watt WO-HOO!!

I'm already playing with it. I just found out that my 200W Heater consumes 200W

Consumption of my main system:

Basic: 305W
With heaters on: 950W
...and actinics on: 1,500W
...and lights on: 3,000W

What does basic include for devices?
You have 550w of actinic..???
So (6) 250w between (2) tanks for 1500w?
I'm a little surpised that they don't draw more then that.
Maybe only on startup

I mistyped the second value. Heaters is 650W. Actinics is 550W (250+150+150).

Basic is:

Return pump
Ocean Motions 4Way
Skimmer
Fuge light
Calcium Reactor pump
PH Controller
2 Tunzes

I just tested the moonlights so...
...with Moonlights on: 3,001W

Armando, after this excercise did this prove beneficial? based on the findings did you do anything differently that saved you money? or was it just another toy or fun thing to do?

curious, if worthwhile maybe the club can put one on the library for passing it around to members.

I got it mostly to see how much my new pumps were consuming. The pumps have variable power consumption. The KAW can be pretty useful and it's good to have one around.

got one from ebay for 28 - alot less watts from the entire system than I thought, damm lights though
