Kinda odd finding

Hey guys, I been around for a while but never personally seen this was looking for thought and input.

Was doing a bit of regular Maintenance on my MP 10, was starting to get built up with purple coraline algae so I decided to give it a vinegar bath to clean it up a bit before I go on vacation.

I gave it a bit of scrubbing with a brush, and took off most of the visible purple coraline and threw it back in..... and this is what I’m seeing.

I really bright orange/red flourescnese .....
Never seen this before, and def was not looking like that prior to the cleaning.

Nothing else in the tank throwing off that color either.

+1 looks like dead coralline bleaching out .be careful with the vinegar bath on the wet side . it will compromise the magnet to rust .when i do mine i just do the basket

Huh..... guess I have always done a better job removing it completely.

With all the years I’ve been in the hobby... never seen it.

If you call Ecotech directly, they will give you the recommended cleaning procedure. If I remember correctly, the procedure is a one-hour soak of the wet-side in a 1/10 vinegar HOT water solution. It works quite well and will not harm the wet-side.
