L-Taurine Amino Acid

We had a thread about Amino acid dosing recently. Since then, I read in Coral Magazine that Taurine may help corals color up. Has anybody tried dosing it or pouring Red Bull in their tank?

It is not contained in Reef-Plus by Seachem, so I'm thinking of experimenting (in reefer terms, not scientist terms.) It's water soluble and I just ordered some bulk L-Taurine powder.

Perhaps I've gone mad.

Go for it. Use your tank as a MAD clinical test. Mulitple asending dose (MAD) study. Let us know when you detect toxicity. j/k

Seriously go for it and see what you get. I really don't know at what level you should start. FWIW, Taurine is not one of the normally occuring 20 amino acids that make up protein structures.
