Low RPM motors for DIY?

Rich, that looks like a standard timer motor found in washing machines. You should be able to get one at a sears repair center or maybe even a hardware store.

Argh... my dad threw out the old washingmashine before letting me scrounge through it...so now I'm out two things i could use...

this, and the solenoid valve in it.

Looks just like the motors on the OM squirts. They can't cost too much. Paul from OM replaced my motor and gave me an extra drum from my squirt for $25.

I assume DC motors would be a better idea..maybe little 9V ones that I coudl run off a cell phone charger or something?

What about the lite-up deer. I have two in my front yard, both have slow motors.....post on craigslist looking for broken ones (i.e. lites no longer work). then dismantle them for the motors.
