Mixing new salt water

Hi all first time post. I was turned on to forum by a friend and love it so far. My question to everyone is about a plan for salt water mixing made easier. I have a 30 gallon food grade plastic container. It was used to ferment wine last used 3 years ago. I was hoping to use this for salt mix instead of doing 2 smaller batches like I do now for my 75 gal mixed reef with 30 gal sump. I am worried because it was used for wine that I wouldn't be able to get all the baddies out. I am on a budget and so far my wife is cool with buying livestock but when it comes to equiptment she can't "see" it's a problem. Any thoughts on how to clean completely or should I give up on it and just buy a new one. Thanks for your help

I used some five gallon containers for years that were once used for juice, I don't think I ever got the smell out, but no harm done.

Just rinse it good and soak it with some vinegar/water for a couple days and rinse it good again.
I'm also using 55gallon drums that were used to hold molasses.
