New start up

Working on a new start up. Running a Red Sea max 130. What’s everyone’s suggestions on start up bacteria? Pros, cons, what y’all would use and what you would not use? Thanks!

I did live rock and ghost feeding.

Another way is throw in a shrimp for a couple days and pull it out when ammonia is present.

Dr. Tim’s bacteria booster or fritz? bacteria booster (unsure on the name) are others I have heard good things on

I did the cocktail shrimp for a couple of days, bottle of Bio-Spira, dry rock and a couple of pieces of store bought "wet rock." I also used Dr. Tim's Aquatics Ammonium Chloride Solution. I liked the Ammonium Chloride as I could objectively test the quality of the cycle but pushing the ammonia level of 2 and seeing how fast it dropped back down.

First off, congrats on the RSM 130. Are you using the stock lighting?

There is a thread on R2R that shows Fritz Turbostart is by far the best bacteria. Just make sure it has been handled correctly.
