Well the time has come for me to do something about my phosphate levels. Within the last week or two I've had a nasty hair algae outbreak. The stuff that grows on the rocks is quickly comsumed by the snails and crabs but they won't even touch the stuff on the back glass, which has gotten so thick that my clownfish are attempting to host in it I figure that with a reactor I can kill 2 birds with one stone here and also run carbon in it. Currently my PO4 levels are at .25ppm. My NO3 levels are <10 but I'm sure the algae has just consumed it all. This has got to be the root of my problem.
What kind of flow do these things handle(meaning what size PH should I use to run it?) Also, would I be able to hang this thing on the side of my sump? I don't have any room in my stand and don't want it visible when looking at the tank from the front. Any advice is appreciated.
