Curious to see how many people utilize house plants for removal of Co2? What types do you keep and what types of plants should I be looking for? Quick Jeeves search came up with Snake, Bird's Nest Fern, Succulents, etc.

I have some plants in the house but I installed an ERV to deal with co2 in the area where the sump is located, get about a .15 swing and I’m not lighting my f
No ERV over here, finished basement, split level ranch and mini splits.

I keep some plants in the house, but nothing significant to help with the ph. I ran a co2 scrubber for about 6 months last year and then gave up on it (one additional thing to maintain). ph now hovers between 7.8 and 8.1. haven't seen any impact. the growth might be slower, but not really looking for super fast growth.

I use big plants that like humidity and like salt air. Elephant ears and philodendrums. Grow in 5 gal. Buckets. Even baby tank got a phili cutting this week. Cutting and re bucketing huge philedendrum. Have 2 different kinds if you need shoots. Then my planters with canna lillies come in for winter and go near big tank. I stick with plants that grow massive and love salty air.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who got an ERV installed for my fish tank lol

How long did the co2 media last for you?

How long did the co2 media last for you?

I ran a 2ft tall old media reactor. The one you see on the right side of the sump in the below picture. It used to last about 6 weeks. And the problem with it is the sudden drop when it depletes. Its not like a gradual decrease. See the graph below. almost a 0.4 drop.

One thing I did with my last tank: run an outside air line for the skimmer.

I ran it through a particle filter (simple fuel filter from Amazon) then a carbon filter, and finally some CO2 media. This kept my PH up at 8.1+, and didn’t suffer a huge drop as the media ran out.
