I have had my blue linkia for almost 4yrs now.
It was my 3rd try at a linkia the other 2 before it just melted away from osmotic shock. I feel a very slow acclimatation is needed, I drip acclimated mine for 3+ hours.
I agree with sw300galma that they must eat some kind of film or something off the LR because anytime I add a new frag ect. with a LR plug the starfish is on it within a couple hours and stays on it for a day or two.

My blue linkia has been with me for years, It's a sun dried ornament on my desk.

I have one of the smaller, grey with dark red patches/ stripes. I've had it about 2 years.

I've never had any luck with them long term, might be due to the fact that I don't really have any 'real' live rock. One thing that I am sure they eat is yellow tunicates. Several years back someone traded me some yellow tunicates that propagated naturally in his tank. I had them in the same tank as the Linkia and the thing almost immediately wrapped itself around them. When it was done there was nothing left.

I got mine from Ray and it seems fine so far. Been a month now.

Its always on the LR, never seen it on the glass. I have 125g.
