Question about hosting clowns

Last night I noticed for the first time that my clowns started hosting.:)
It happens the be a very large toadstool with a 10 cap that I got from a fellow BRS member.I noticed that the toadstool was pretty annoyed about the whole occupation thing.(not showing any polyps and very leathery looking). The toadstool is rather cupped up and makes for a very private area for the clowns. But then I noticed deep down at the bottom of the cup is an opening leading into the stalk.
Have the clownfish did this by nipping?
Or is this a natural cavity that I didn't notice before?

My clowns host in my leather.....the leather will get used to it. I tried an anemone after they hosted in the leather, but the leather is HUGE, and it was like asking them to go from a mansion to a studio apartment

They seem to go in it and then just ignore it for a while. The female was kind of nipping at the base of it some today. They seem to find interest more in it during actinic lighting.

Must be,
Like we're all going to be doing shortly.
That will be switching to moonlight shortly.
They still sleep up near the top between the overflow and the tank wall.

even fully retracted at night, my clowns hang in the folds of the leather......

That's cool,I hope someday my pair will chill out in a cozy spot instead of at the top of the tank.I have frogspawn,a very big devil's hand and that 10-12 inch toadstool cap.
