Are these white stringy things just the start of hair algae or something else? Thanks

Hard to tell, could be spaghetti worms. Is it green?

Hydroids maybe? Looks similar to things I had in my tank and people said they were Hydroids. Do they have bulbous heads? Everything I read said more flow was best. YMMV.

I thought spaghetti worms were darker.

I used to have them everywhere in my tank when I started out, turned out to be nothing bad they just went away after a while. They are not harmful, you don't need to worry about it. Good luck happy reefing.
