Hey Reefers. I just got back from my first Reef Palooza. It was at the Meadowlands on the out skirt of NY. The trip was a 3 1/2
hour ride for me. I went on Saturday the first day and just wanted to share. There were tons of corals and all the major companies were there. I got to see Ryan from BRS and Randy was there also. Tidal Gardens Reef Nutrition Greg Carrol Dr Tim and so many more. Check out picks and you’ll see them. One of Boston Reefers Sponsors @CrazyCorals was there also with all kinds of coral and some freshly brought in live rock. They had a huge display that looked awesome. Go check them out.
I made the trip to meet up with a vendor that was at the show. I’ve been looking to purchase a Holy Grail Torch for my tank for sometime. I ended by up treating myself to two torches. I couldn’t pass them up. I added a Holy Grail and a 24k Torch to my collection. I surprised my wife with a couple zoanthids from Jason Fox and called it a day. Pictures coming:)
For those Reefers that haven’t been to a show I’ll say this. It’s definitely worth the trip even if you don’t buy anything just for the experience. There’s so much knowledge surrounding you. You could talk for hours. I thought it was pretty neat to be able to chat with all the faces of the hobby about challenges your facing in your own system. There were all kinds of artwork and sample products and equipment. Hopefully next time I’ll see you there. Happy Reefing

Nice to see that Shawn was there and the rest of the crew. I’ll catch up for next year lol. Had way to much going on to go unfortunately. I’m glad you had a nice experience and came back with some goodies. Lol

That's me in your picture of the reef Nutrition booth. Wish you had snapped me pushing my Chihuahua in her baby stroller lol
I had fun, we went both days. 6hr drive back to Boston though. It was worth the drive when I got home and got my super glue out :)
3 torches
1 hammer
4 zoa colonies
1 clove polyp colony
3 Bottles Tig pods

That’s funny you made the photo. Yes great time. Sounds like you made out! I was B hitting Chad up on my cultures. Ohh and traffic on way home was slow for me too, but I only went Saturday. Did you set up aquarium in hotel or just leave in cooler? Good luck with your new corals

I picked out what I wanted Saturday then came back Sunday to the show just for pickup ( made notes and took pics of everything) . We stayed in a hotel Friday and Saturday night. Hope to see you there next year it would be nice to meet local fellow reefers

Made the trip down on Sunday. Was a really cool experience. Got two Goni's, a hammer, some zoas, a Rhodactis, and some Cyphastrea. Resisted the Micromussa and blasto temptation but there were some nice ones. Also enjoy asking about the $8,000 meat corals for sh*** and giggles. Can't believe people actually buy those... though they are beautiful. Drive back was rough with the traffic but it was worth the trip.
