I run a RD3 100w from a basement sump about 20’ away from the tank. Big price difference initially vs a comparable output external pump, but pricing out the difference in energy consumption I figured I’d break even in a few years (can’t remember if it was 5 or 7, but something like that). Pump is absolutely silent, no regrets with the choice. RE customer service is great as well (had to find a replacement for my Gen 1 BK mini 180 pump and they were awesome).
