Setting up a 75 Gallon

Reefing ain't Easy
Ok. I am taking advantage of my apt misfortunes and upgrading to a 75 gallon tank. I have 60 lbs of LR already and will be putting that in a established tank with a 3" sand bed. Any suggestions for aquascape?? Also I plan on doing a mixed reef (using t5 6x54w set up). What would be some good corals to add in the future?? Also I have a pair of perculas, a YT, and a goby. What else could I add fish wise in the future??

If I were you......

I would silicone some vinyl tubing on the bare bottom of the tank, then put eggcrate on top of it.

The sand will cover the eggcrate and the eggcrate will prevent piles of rock from sinking and sliding around in the sand.

I wish I had the time to do this when I set up my 75......:(

I bought my egg crate in the lighting section of Home Depot.

I'm guessing he means the larger diameter plastic tubing, maybe like what you might use on return / overflow pipes ? Mine are 3/4" ID tubing also from Home depot's plumbing dept.

That's the the stuff I used....

It has some cushion and give to it so the eggcrate is less likely to break under a heavy rock load.

I will look into that Thanks. What about LR? How many lbs? 75? 100? more??

And how many fish (over time) can be housed in a 75 g reef??
