So, I'm switching my 40B over to a 75g. Saved some sand, but the rest I put in a 5g bucket last night. Sand was sitting in some skanky brown water from mixing around all of my sandbed while removing it. Today I brought it out and rinsed the bejeezus out of it with the garden hose - cold tap water for about 20min. Brought it in and added some RO water and dechlorinater, and it sat in a bucket again for a few hours. Then added it to the new tank - freshly mixed cold SW. Finally added a heater about an hour ago. Now I see a lone nassarius snail climbing the glass - he must be the toughest little snail going to survive all that abuse!
