Weird Worm

At 5:30 this morning when I got up to start my day. As always I look at the tank first thing to make sure there were no unwelcome overnight occurances!

I saw something swimming wildly in the tank. I looked closer. It appeared to be a worm. It was about 4 inches long, light tan colored and looked like it had a sucker for a mouth. When I came back with the camera it vanished. So it is camera shy. I did find the hole in the sand it looks like it came out of as this was up against the glass.

Any thoughts? I have never seen anything like it in my tank. None of the fish I have at this point are interested -- the clown ignored it as did the baby bengalis. No one was afraid of it either.

I will look again when the light fades but this creature will be tough to catch on camera...

I am not familiar with the development phases of bristle worms but this guy had no legs at all.

Any ideas of what it is? Is it evil or benign?
