Which fish will reproduce in captivity

Is there a list of fish species that will reproduce in captivity somewhere?

Are some species more difficult than others?

Any help would be appreciated greatly…

Clownfish and Bangiia Cardinals seem to be the fish that are easiest to raise, members of the BRS have successfully raised both of these.

MOFIB (Marine Ornamental Fish & Invert Breeders Association) is the best resource I've found for questions relating to breeding. There are a lot of very dedicated, very knowledgeable breeders on there. Like others have said, Bangaii and Clowns are some of the easiest to breed, but a number of gobies and other fish are relatively easy, too.

They've got forums for just about everything, and people are willing (and able!) to give a lot of help.

Whats this forum for then if it is not to help folks out:rolleyes:

Agreed Liam. :) MOFIB. is a great resource, so is the staff at Roger Williams College Aquaculture.

I didn't have to try too hard to spawn golden-head sleeper gobies in a 180 mixed reef. Had over a dozen successful spawns and hatches, with no larval rearing success past six days. Rotifers aren't small enough for the fry.
