Whole set up for 40 breeder frag tank

Hey was wondering if people have advice for how/where to drill a whole for an overflow for a 40 breeder I'm making a frag tank. It's not going to be connected to my display so it will have its own sump. Can I drill a whole in the side? Should I get an overflow box? Do people use hang in back equipment? Want to do a sump but am afraid to drill it what do people suggest?

40B are not tempered so you can drill the bottom. Make a simple overflow box out of black acrylic.

Never had to make an overflow do I just make 2 wholes the same size and what size should I make them?
