16g biocube led upgrade

Just getting back into the hobby. Dont know a lot about the leds. I was thinking of upgrading the stock leds to these and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.

If you go topless you have a lot of options like a AI prime that you could find used for a decent price. Probably double of that setup. Have never used those but I believe @dz6t knows about them

First of all, these reefbars are pretty ok as they put out quite a bit of light. The power supplies for these reefbars are not that good.
I had to replace all of them with UL approved power supply. The ones came with my reefbars from this company does not even have labels on them. They ran hot and failed within a year. But 21LED has good customer service and they sent new power supplies, I just store them in a junk pile.

The controller failed too, got a replacement and failed again.

The led bars themselves are well made. But the color spectrum is limited and good for supplemental lighting.

I have new and use led solution for your cube. Please come over if you have time.

Look into the retrofit upgrades.
I used Steve's LEDs for my biocube 14.
Loved it
