My tank is drilled with 2" holes. question is do I buy 2" bulkheads or a size a little smaller or they just fit like a glove

No a 2 in. bulkhead will not fit.
Let's take a look and see what that will fit.
I'm guessing that a 1 1/2 will fit that. But do some research online.

Is the hole exactly 2"? Im not sure a 1.5 bulkhead would fit. The abs bulkheads from BRS require a 2.3" hole for the 1.5 bulkhead. If it's exactly 2", it sounds more like a 1.25...if they even make those.

Could also be for a 1" schedule 80 bulkhead if the hole is slightly under 2"

Double check that measurement. 1" standard bulkheads fit a 1 3/4" hole. 1" sch 80 bulkhead fits a 1.88" hole.

1.5" standard bulkhead fits a 2.32" hole.

1" schedule 80 will be the best fit assuming the hole is exactly 2". Is this a glass cages tank by any chance? (they usually drill for sch 80 bulkheads IIRC)

You guys were right!! The hole isn't 2" but, my knowledge on rulers stinks big time so what does this say?

Haha, So it looks like a 1" standard schedule 40/ABS bulkhead is in your future :)

hope the following helps
for 1/2" bulkhead, you want the hole to be 1 1/8
3/4 bulkhead - hole = 1 1/2
1" bulkhead - hole = 1 3/4
1 1/5 bulkhead - hole - 2 3/8

go to marine depot and look under the plumbing parts->bulkhead, it tells you everything there
