Cant keep my Alveopora happy

Had it placed mid level in tank for months and it started bleaching out, however did have some growth. So a few weeks ago I moved it to the sand bed in a low flow area (read thats what they like) and it doesnt seem to want to fully expand its polyps. Any recommendations?

They can be a bit tricky to keep. They don't like too much flow. I have mine on the sand bed. It's grown over the years, but slowly.

Low light. I have 2 colonies and they are growing well. They get enough flow for their tentacles to wave about. They are in the darkest area of the tank though, with the mushrooms.

They are closely related to Goni's. There's been some positive news on the dosing of manganese.

If they're like goni, which I think it's in the same family, they don't like strong flow. My goni get pissed off when the flow is too strong.

See thats whats wierd...everyone says low flow/low light and thats where I have it placed. When it was closer to the surface its tentacles extracted more so than now.

How long has it been there? May need time to adjust.

It was near the surface for maybe 4 months Im guessing. I just put it in the sand a few weeks ago.
