Cpr Bak Pak Mod?

anyone know of any mods that i can do to a CPR bak pak to make it skim better? I know they are a popular skimmer, any of the folks on here that use them put different pumps on them that work better than the one that it comes with or do anything different to it to make it run better?

I have one on my QT tank that used to be on my 55 gallon.
I replaced the Rio pump with a MJ 1200 and did a mesh mod on the impeller.
Also look into purchasing the surface skimmer attachment.

Here's a link to one Jennifer did a while back.
She used fishing line,but I used gutter guard and tied it on the impeller with fishing line.
