Hi guys I got a couple sump questions

A buddy of mine gave me a tank and sump and I’m almost done setting it up but I got a few questions?What goes in these shutoffs also do I have my sump in backwards?

He had it the sump set up like this but I can’t see what goes into those shutoffs

Looks like they could be manifold valuing to run different equipment but it’s hard to tell from the pics.

yes looks like in the full back picture that there are two drains and then a very elaborate manifold feeding two returns and outlets for lots of additional equipment like reactors/ UV ect.
