Is slate floor tile safe

I want to make a big cave for my porcupine puffer to sleep in during the day. It's going to have to be 12-14" deep. I was thinking of using gray slate floor tile from HD. Is that aquarium safe? I'd use ceramic or porcelain too, but most of those are glazed.

HD has unglazed tumbled travertine tiles that would work. I use them for growout tiles in my frank tank.

Pretty sure it is this one I use. Which ever one is the natural stone no glazing is the one I use.

You could also use a terracotta pot. A lot of people use small ones for clownfish breeding tanks
