Leveling pad thickness?

Probably a stupid question. My tanks getting lifted onto my stand Thursday night. I’d prefer 1/2” pad but can easily double it up The tank is 125 gal rimless 3/4” glass and euro braced on the bottom it’s going on a very flat aluminum stand with extra bracing and a type 1 pvc top. Do I need 1”

Now let me start with I don't know what I talking about., but what benefit would you get from a thicker pad? If the concept is to account for slight irregularities in the stand. Wouldn't a thin pad do he trick?

I dunno I’m pretty confident in the stand. I suppose the thicker pad would compensate for twist in either the tank or stand or both. There’s nothing under the tank that 1/2” can’t handle

I think most recommend 1/4” anything more than that should be addressed by leveling the stand.

I like hearing that. The stand has 4 leveling feet. I was planning on using a torque wrench to insure even pressure on each one after everything’s level.
