mangafloat rust??

Do those magnafloat things rust after a while? I got on from someone used it and it looks like it leaked some orange ish red colored stuff in the water. I had some redish algae on the glass but this looked more orange. One of the soft corals (colt maybe) that was under it when it happened looks like its wilting and discolored. I thought it was my old one and didn't wash it but now I'm thinking it was the other persons.

The magnet inside would probably be iron so sure it could rust if it has a leak. I would try to find the leak and seal it off.

imo i woud take it out of the tank and get a new one!

I threw it out as soon as I saw the funky stuff come off it!! My poor colt coral looks like crap. I cut of all the shriveled up stuff I hope it will be ok. I've had it for years and it was on of my biggest pieces =(. As long as some of it is salvaged I'll be happy.
