maxi jet 1200 mod??

so i have been trying to find out about maxi 1200 mods but most of the rc and google sites are not helpfull as much
i have two pumps one is on a ac remora skimmer
the other i want ot use for tank flow
i have read about a fishing line mod to increase bubbles in skimmer
anyone ever do this?
also i was thinking of putting a sea flow mod kit on the other
but i am reluctant because i think it will be to much flow for my small tank
30x18x24. however i was thinking i could point this pump up towards the water surface and that would diffuse most of the harmfull flow
(knocking overstuff)
any thoughts as what i could do to increase flow and skimmer production

As for the seaflo, I think it'd be a size great for your tank and not too much.

i thought it could work
but then i read about people putting it in 55g(4ft long) and saying its to much flow

Just hope you dont have fine sand in your tank. I have a sea flow modded 1200 on my 75g and no matter where I point it even up it makes a sandstorm and sand drifts. Then when I finally thought I had it perfect I was starring in my tank for no reason and I saw a sand tornado go by. Just an FYI using it with fine sand.
