Any thoughts on this skimmer? Can get for less than $200. My tank is a 55 gallon tanks with live rock and no corals but would like to start having corals in the future. Any thoughts on this?

Reef Octopus 4" NWB-110

I wouldn't hesitate getting anything reef octopus makes. They make good stuff, been using the same reef octo extreme for almost 8 years now and it's still goin strong

I have a CPR bak pak hob on my 55. I know there sre better skimmers out there but it still pulls out some funk.

Thanks for the info and the feedback. any thoughts on whether the Reef Octopus listed is strong enough/powerful enough to do a good job?

I've got that skimmer and love it. It's on my 40B. I think it would be fine for a 55g - if it were a 75g you'd probably want the next size up though.

As another option, I used an Eshopps PSK-100 on my 55 with great success. Very similar sized skimmer, but does have a larger pump on it. You should be able to get one around $160 shipped.
