You know my wife and I where just talking about this type of scenario the other day.
With the amount of time and $$$ we invest in our marine systems it would be very cost effective to purchase a generator to keep things going during such events .. not to mention you can keep your coffee hot or your beer cold, and lets not forget keeping the furnace going during the cold seasons.
