To fix my tank or to junk it

Had a tank leak in my 55 gal. Am contemplating fixing it for my freshwater tank. I do not know how old the tank is, or what brand...I got it off of someone on craigslist. Think I know what side the leak in in the silicone seal. Is it worth it to fix the seal or not? Do I need special silicone, or can pick up some from home depot? Would I or should I replace all seals of the tank? Is that a huge process?

Basically, it is worth it in time in money to fix this tank, or should I just save up and get a new one?

Thanks!

If it were me...

Considering the ramifications if it fails, I think I would buy a new one. If you think about it, the failure of a tank is about the worst thing that can happen to your set up.

I agree...maybe I'll keep it around when I need a sump and I can silicone the crap out of it. I'll be looking for a new 55+ now...too bad all my money is goig to a new ceiling that was distroyed from the leak lol
