Whats the best paint to use...

For painting the back of a glass tank black?

I used Rustoleum enamal and rolled on 3 coats. It still looks like the day I did it.

Not sure what's the best but oil base is what I like. I used 3 colors of dark blues poured into a rolling tray.What I didn't do was mix them together much so it gave it a shadowy depth with the different dark hues.

I used black latex gloss and I am glad I did. 2 days later I hated it and it peeled right off

I used latex as well and after a year or so didnt like it anymore. peeled and scrapped right off.

Rustoleum enamal is what I used as well... I love it... its the way to go in my opinion
