where can I find Potassium permanganate locally

i should have some laying around but I'm not local. Try callin around to some stores or water garden centers, its very easy to get.

Ah, OK. It is a pretty harsh chemcial that you may not find locally. I mostly wanted to make sure you were not going to add it to a reef tank. Some folks have recommended this in the past, but it is not a good idea, IMO.

nope going to dip. someone told me a pool store and arthur said water conditioning company...ill have to do some research.

i use it in my house filter

your local well or water filtration co should have it. i have some on hand but a little bit of a hike

If you cant find any I'll dig some up for you and send it postal for you. It will last a long time. As Randy said it is some harsh stuff, but if used right its great, and try not to spill it on anything :)

Steve, I have not ever used it to dip corals in. Have only used it in freshwater aquaria and "water gardens" to oxidize organics, and then to dip some fish (mainly koi) as well.
