Set up questions?

Finally about to set up my 46 gal. bow but have a few questions.

1) Stand is level but when tank is placed on stand there are a few small
gaps between tank and stand, top of tank is level but worried about
gaps, read that you were not suppose to use styrofoam under glass
tanks with the black trim rings but I think that would solve my problem?

2) Plan eventually is for a reef, have 50-55 lbs. live rock and 75-80 live
sand, will start without fuge or sump,plan was for a pair of Seio 620s
for flow, was wonder if I should run HOB filter if so what type?

Alright, I leveled the tank, and setup with live rock, sand,and water.Finally got my Seios, question where would be the best place to mount them?

Dong, you suggested the Aquaclear, should I set this up like a hang on the tank fuge?With live rock,sand, and macros?

Yes but make it a skimmer not a filter. This is a great deal grab it befor someone else does.

Definitely, a skimmer will put you off on a good start.

You could also use an aquaclear like dong says, but don't use a sponge filter in it. Just use it with a bag of carbon, or put some rubble and macro algae (like chaetomorpha) in there to act as a little refugium.
