Just picked up a 125g today

Little update got all the plumbing done and glued.
just installed my new bulk reef supply 100 gpd RO/DI Unit I have been using small ro buddies for years now and always hooking it up to the sink is a pain so I knew with a bigger tank I wanted to have a more permanent RO setup

Looks great and you’ll love the bigger RO. On my new build I added the booster pump and it’s putting out about 5g in 45 min.

Interested to see how you’re transfer goes, I’m going to be doing a full rock swap in Nov.

Thanks my water coming in is at 55psi I do have a booster pump but not sure if it will be too much pressure if I use it. I guess I can hook it up if I need water in a hurry lol

Did the transfer yesterday everything went as planned just took me all afternoon and into the night. Emptied both tanks put all my expensive coral and my clam in a Biocube I had and let that run put all rock in a large bin with a power head. My friend stopped by and helped me move the old tanks out and the new 125g into its place. Did a rough aquascape but pretty happy with how it came out. Everything is just hooked up and a mess of wires right now but it’s running

thats a day you must have both looked forward to and been dreading. Looks great bet your glad it’s done.
Yes I have been dreading doing the swap but definitely glad it’s done thanks

Tank is doing well !! everything is looking good and stable.... I have the tank bare bottom for now I have always had sand and for now want to try bare bottom the only problem I had to solve was I have a 10” derasa clam and he keeps falling over with all the flow so I made a clam hammock out of some aqua forest stone fix I had and it’s been working great so far I underestimated the size of my clam and should of made it a little bigger but it’s working for now

Great idea. I wonder what you cold make with a little sand and ruble mixed in.
It’s used to cement live rock together and it works really well you could make pretty much anything with it

Working on a little wire management not sure how much I like it but at least it’s a little neater for now. I just used some leftover wood I had from building the stand and some old door hinges still need to paint it but at least everything is off the bottom of the stand View attachment 150025View attachment 150026
Nice and clean, love it. Someday I'll get to that point.

So on the 6 foot tank my 50” Reefbreeder v2 wasn’t getting good coverage on the ends of the tank so I went to see Dong @dz6t and bought 2 new ai prime 16HDs I don’t like the look of the gooseneck so I used the legs that came with the Reefbreeder light and made my own mounts super happy with the way it came out..... and of course had to get some coral while I was there lol

Trying to plan out how I’m going to transfer everything from my two running tanks and move the new tank into their place. I was thinking about getting a couple of those kiddie pools from Walmart to put all of my rock and corals in not sure if this is a good idea or if someone has a stock tank that I could borrow that would be better idk this is definitely going to be a challenge..... need to get a good plan for this move any advice will be appreciated thanks
I am just learning salt water but for freshwater I use the black totes from sams club/home depot/lowes/etc. They are cheapest at Sams, a 40 gallon is $15. I have filled them but prefer 2/3 full, the bow out a bit but hold well. I used a 27 for a temporary freshwater sump and never replaced it because it is working well for last 18 months and only cost $7. Again, need help onowing if safe for saltwater but I would think just as safe as kiddie pool and you can use it after to store supplies.
