    Concern for my Scopas

Humblefish I am certainly not !! LOL But Flukes it was indeed. I freshwater dipped and they all but fell off. I gently scrapped off the ones I could see and then re-dipped in the fresh. Plopped him back in the tank and he swam right away. MAYBE 3 minutes total out of the water and in the fresh...

    Concern for my Scopas

Thanks folks ! No sores other than that picture. I maybe see white spots on the fins (flukes?) It's still eating and doesn't APPEAR affected but I'm really a novice when it comes to fish diseases. Honestly I don't know I'm going to try a freshwater dip to see if it might be flukes.

    Concern for my Scopas

Hello, I've never seen Brook or Velvet before (in person) but today I noticed this spot on my scopas tang in QT. It is in a QT observation tank (no copper) with a small coral beauty and a small lawn mower blenny. Other than what shows here it's happy and eating well. Any feedback is greatly...

SOLVED - Suggestions for TDS issue

Hey All, Thx for taking the time to read. I recently did a full change out on my RODI system. Admittedly it was over due but PRE change TDS was fluctuating between 3/4. That said, I did a full change out. It's the 150 gallon system from BRS. Since changing the system out I can't seem to get...

Question for BRS (Noob needs knowledge)

Understanding that you get out of it what you put into it. It’s work, but in the labor of love sense. It’ll be great in the beginning (when everything is clean and shinny) but if you’re not one to follow a reasonably set schedule it’ll become more tedious than enjoyable. I have 5 tanks w/ 4+...

    Sixline wrasse aggression

Too funny (no disrespect meant elamintor) but I have two of them and they are pretty mature (in my systems) approx 2+ years for one, 1.5 for the other. Different tanks but they are in with Chromi's, Damsel's, a gramma, midas blenny, Yellow tang, and they are model citizens. Am am glad I read...

    Mag/Kalk question

Thanks guys, might not be "burning" to others as I'm guessing it all varies on tank size, coral type etc (correct me if I'm wrong). The tank is a 30 long (small I know), with a Large CPR "fuge" and not sumped. I seem to be going thru double the amt (5000ml) of Aquaforrest Mag as I do Ca & Alk ...

    Mag/Kalk question

So I read the thread below (Alk Question) but my issue seems to be the amount of Mag I'm burning thru. I'm dosing Aqua Forrest 3 part and I've finally got my numbers to around standards. The tank is primarily LPS and SPS and is finally doing OK to good/healthy/seeing small growth. I am however...

    Some pearls of wisdom?

All thanks so much for the feedback. I've been hemming and hawing for a bit now anyway and I saw a post else where on the forums about advanced acrylics. Decided to grab a new frag tank, similarly sized and was able to talk them down $50. Thanks again.

    Some pearls of wisdom?

Glass tank, it's old probably 15-20 years old clear adhesive. I've had it setup for at least 2 years now. I can see the general area where it's coming from but not precisely. Bottom left side.

    Some pearls of wisdom?

All, Need to hear a general consensus of sorts. I have a tank (30L) that I got for free with a stand so zero complaints. However it has started a slow leak. It is one of my main frags presently. My question is has anyone ever seen a tank bust a seam and up and split and flood ? or do they...

New build (Nuvo 75 INT) plumbing to an older Eshopps R-200 sump.

Thanks Chris (Hope all is well with you guys btw!) Bought the skimmer second hand but it's working great on the GO tank. I believe it is an Eshopps. As for the furnace it was replaced about 15 years ago so its reasonably new. Not to say it can't or isn't leaking co2 but currently both GO...

New build (Nuvo 75 INT) plumbing to an older Eshopps R-200 sump.

Hey All so I too am starting a new build which has been on hold for awhile. I’ve had the tank for just over a year now and now am approaching finally getting it wet. Like many others here I was essentially waiting for the mancave to be finished (walls, flooring, ceiling etc) and waffled back and...

    Marco E-400 cement

Thx folks. I recall it having a smell similar to/if not exactly like ammonia when mixed with the mortar. Not super strong but not "tame" either. Thanks Pauls will check it out. I also agree on the hydraulic cement comment as well. Might just EHfff it  and give it s shot! See what...
