Looks like your off to a great start! Did you use thermal paste between the heatsync and LED?

If you want I just found a good link on how to build a controller for your LEDs, I plan on building one for my LED build

thermal epoxy and drilled and tapped? why? If you went to all the trouble to drill and tap them, shoulda just used the paste.

This thing looks awesome none-the-less! Very well planned out, and something I may snipe for my 75 when I build mine. How many drivers are running this?

Skeeter. I could be mistaken. But i dont think the holes are tapped. It looked like he countersunk the holes slightly to allow for the wires to pass easily through the holes. This way there are no visible screws OR wires from the side facing the tank. I could be wrong tho...

you, sir, do appear to be correct. Which makes this build even more clean and better thought out than my last post :p

progress

Few more pics of the progress, blues are working.. I am only using 4 Mean Well drivers on this light I am splitting the current and I am using a smaller step down driver to run the reds. Do you like the birds nest. lol::

Interesting build... I've been deciding whether or not to build my LEDs or just buy AI sols, but I'm beginning to lean towards a DIY. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get all the different LEDs and how much was it per LED?

More pics of wiring

:cool:Whites are working!!! One didn't work had to change it out. hence the tape.

I buy the Luxeon Leds on Ebay from China. You buy enough you can get them for $1.00-2.00 a piece. just make sure you get the 120 lm and higher leds.

The three Red are for show , it changes the color of the fish. It is just for fun. Yellow tangs turn bright orange its pretty cool.

I will also be running Reds in my setup. Im planning for 1 red and one UV/purple in each bank. It may not be proven to do anything other than color, but Ive seen 2 DIY LED fixture like that, and I liked what they did
